Although the reality star has struggled with alcohol addiction for years, and most recently went to rehab in 2010, Richards is now on the straight and narrow -- and she has the support of her newest co-star, soap star Lisa Rinna.
“Kyle was drinking wine,” an insider told Radar Online on Aug. 15. “But Kim and Lisa stuck to Diet Coke. And believe it or not, it was a legit get-together because there weren’t even cameras there filming for the show.”
Filming on season three of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" began several weeks ago and will likely continue for the next couple of months. Last month, Rinna signed on to do the series, after months of speculation, and a few weeks later, her fellow soap star, Eileen Davidson, joined, as well.
Davidson's deal with Bravo caused quite the stir when it was revealed she'd be making a whopping $750,000 for season five. Even the show's biggest stars, who've been with the series since its start, including Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump were only being paid $500,000.
Although Kim Richards has been with the show since its start too, her salary is much less because she doesn't film as a housewife. Instead, she's taken on more of a friend of the housewives role.
Yolanda Foster, however, makes the same as Richards and Vanderpump, despite having joined the show in season three.
Also forming an alliance with Rinna is Vanderpump.
“Lisa Vanderpump is going out of her way to make sure that she can count on Lisa Rinna this season. Last year, Lisa V. was left out in the cold as all of the ladies turned on her,” the source said. “Both of them have been social acquaintances for years, but Vanderpump is truly going the extra mile to welcome Lisa R. to the show.”
