Talk about doing things all out of order. Kim Kardashian will still be married to estranged husband Kris Humphries when she gives birth to boyfriend, Kanye West’s baby.
A source close to the situation stated that unless Kardashian gives in to Humphries, the divorce will still be going on when she gives birth. “Unless Kim Kardashian gives in to Kris’ demand that she admit the marriage was fraudulent, the divorce proceedings will still be ongoing and she will still be legally married to him when she gives birth.”
Both Humphries’ and Kardashian’s attorneys are scheduled to be in court on Friday, February 15 to set a trial date. The court docket is backed up and the earliest they could begin the trial would be in the middle of June.
This court date also accommodates Humphries’ basketball schedule as his team, the Nets could be in the play-offs which don’t end until June. Kardashian is currently three months pregnant indicating that she would be ready to give birth sometime in late June.
The source said that Humphries is dead set on being vindicated in court and her pregnancy doesn’t change that. “Kris isn’t trying to drag this out, but he wants to be vindicated in court. Kris will see this through to the end.”
In addition to wanting it proven that he was duped by the Kardashian’s, Kris Humphries wants the 20.5 carat Elaine Schwartz diamond ring back. Their doomed marriage only lasted 72 days and Humphries stated that since their short marriage was based on fraud, he’s entitled to the ring back. So far, Kardashian is refusing to even consider returning the ring.
In November, Laura Wasser, Kardashian’s attorney, spoke with the judge and accused Humphries of keeping Kardashian “handcuffed” to him by refusing to grant a divorce. She also believes he’s demanding a trial out of spite.
“Ms. Kardashian is now handcuffed to Kris Humphries. These delays are forcing her to be married. She wants to dissolve her marriage so she can move on with her life. I don’t think he [Kris] has a case, it’s a fishing expedition.”
Humphries’ attorney, Marshall Waller responded to Wasser’s allegations by saying, “All she has to do is agree to an annulment.” However, the source stated that wasn’t going to happen.
“Kim is refusing to cave to any of Kris’ demands. She has moved on with her life, and she won’t agree to an annulment on the grounds that the marriage was fraudulent because it would cause catastrophic damage to her brand.”
And being married to someone else while you’re pregnant with your boyfriend’s baby isn’t harmful to Kardashian’s brand?
