Pretend that you have mountains of money, a mother who pressures you to maintain the fabulous family facade and, oh yes, your own pride in your appearance. And you've got a problem: Post-baby pounds plus public pressure. That scenario sums up Kim Kardashian's current weight loss wars. Flustered by the flab fight, Kim is waging weighty weapons: Green coffee bean extract fat burners and Hollywood's top personal trainer, according to Sky News on September 1. But why stop there? Kim also is using a hypno-band to take off the pounds, reported UK OMG on September 3. So how do these weight loss weapons work? We're glad you asked:
- Green coffee bean extract fat burners: Initially tested by researchers in a small study, this diet supplement became famed when Dr. Mehmet Oz featured it on his show and did his own test. The results: The women who tried it for him lost an average of a pound a week. You can read about his test and tips on using it (are you listening, Kim?) by clicking here.
- Hypno-bands: You've heard of hypnosis for weight loss? Now magazine reports that the hypnoband is the latest weight loss fad. It's similar to a gastric band with one big fat exception: It doesn't exist except in the mind of the person being hypnotized. Kim reportedly is being put in a trance by a hypnotherapist and told that she has a gastric band on her stomach that requires her to eat less. Although research has been done on using hypnosis for weight loss (click here to learn more), we located no evidence that it can equal surgery.
- Hollywood's top personal trainer: You know how you call Roto-Rooter for emergency plumbing problems? Well, celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson has become the Roto-Rooter equivalent for celebrities who want to fight flabby fat fast. She's worked with Gwyneth Paltrow, who credits Tracy with restoring her pre-baby body. Gwyneth even wrote the preface to Tracy's book "Tracy Anderson's 30-Day Method: The Weight-Loss Kick-Start that Makes Perfection Possible."
So what do you think? Should Kim be stressing and striving so hard to lose weight? Or should she spend her money on, hmmm, how about pet rescue or another worthy cause? Put your comments below.
