There are many potential legal complications to Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy, including the presumption that Kardashian and Kris Humphries may be nowhere near a divorce settlement before Kim gives birth, Radar Online reported on Wednesday, Jan 2.
A source told Radar Online:
"Unless Kim Kardashian gives in to Kris' demand that she admit the marriage fraudulent, the divorce proceedings will still be ongoing and she will still be legally married to him when she gives birth [to Kanye West’s baby].”
The earliest a trial could be scheduled is for the middle of June to accommodate Humphries’s basketball schedule. Kris’s team, the New Jersey Nets, is now in second place in its division, and the play-offs do not end until June. Kim is due to give birth in late June, and legally their 72-day marriage may not be dissolved by then.
“Kris isn’t trying to drag this out, but he wants to be vindicated in court. Kris will see this through to the end,” the source said.
Kim’s attorney told the judge in November that “these delays are forcing her [Kim] to be married. She wants to dissolve her marriage so she can move on with her life.”
Kris’s attorney, Marshall Waller said, “All she [Kim] has to do is agree to an annulment.”
“Kim is refusing to cave to Kris’s demands. She has moved on with her life, and she won’t agree to an annulment on grounds that the marriage was fraudulent because it would cause catastrophic damage to her brand,” a source said.
Negative public opinion of Kim Kardashian has already caused damage to her brand, whether or not she caves to Kris Humphries demands for an annulment. It would be best for Kardashian to give Humphries an annulment based on fraud and truly move on with her life.
