Kim Kardashian feels great after losing over 50 pounds, and said her weight-loss motivation came from the fat-shaming haters who insulted her pregnancy weight gain.
"The haters helped motivate me," said Kardashian (via Yahoo Jan. 20). "Seeing every crazy thing written about me gave me motivation, but it's just my personality to want to be fit, not be lazy."
Kim shed 50 pounds less than six months after giving birth to daughter North (in June 2013) by following the low-carb Atkins and working out almost every day, combining cardio exercise with weight-training.
Looking back, Kardashian is proud of her incredible weight-loss transformation, and is determined to continue dieting and exercising to stay healthy.
"It's crazy because seeing myself back in this episode [of 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians']," said Kim. "I just had my baby girl, and I still hadn't lost my weight yet. It reminds me of all of the work I put in, and shows me to not stop working out to live a healthy lifestyle."
Kardashian has credited the Atkins diet for accelerating her post-baby weight loss. She said limiting her carb intake to less than 60 net grams a day was hard, but was extremely effective at producing rapid weight loss.
"I'm glad I found the Atkins diet, which was a challenge, but this was the easiest diet I researched, so it allowed me to lose weight fast," she said.
Meanwhile, rumors surfaced that Kim has embarked on an extreme diet and has been working out up to three times a day to get slim before her upcoming wedding to Kanye West. A wedding date has not yet been set, but Kardashian said it will definitely happen this summer
