Kim Kardashian is maintaining her 50-pound weight loss with the low-carb Atkins diet and pole dancing workouts, Life & Style reported.
Kardashian posted an Instagram photo flaunting her fishnet stockings, saying she and pals Blac Chyna and Larsa Pippen had taken pole dancing lessons at Sheila Kelley's S Factor dance studio in Encino, Calif.
Kelley, 50, is a former actress who has appeared on "L.A. Law" and "Lost." Sheila now teaches pole dancing classes and counts celebrities Teri Hatcher and Kate Hudson among her clients.
Kim was photographed leaving the studio carrying stripper heels (lucite platforms) with her mom/manager, Kris Jenner, in tow. While pole dancing may sound like an unconventional workout, fitness expert say it tones muscles, builds flexibility and burns about 250 calories an hour.
Meanwhile, Kardashian has been making headlines for allegedly going on an extreme diet and workout regimen in a desperate bid to be a size zero before her summer wedding.
Kim's longtime best friend, Jonathan Cheban, confirmed that Kardashian has been extremely disciplined about exercise. “She works out every day at 5 a.m." said Cheban. Kim has not confirmed these reports herself, but admitted on Twitter that she has stepped up her exercise routine and Atkins diet to get "in the best shape" of her life.
Kardashian lost 50 pounds less than six months after giving birth to daughter North (in June 2013) by following the low-carb Atkins diet and working out almost every day, combining cardio exercise with weight-training.
Kim's weight-loss plan was a high-fat ketogenic-style diet known for producing rapid weight loss. Her diet consisted of 1,800 to 2,200 calories and limited daily carb intake to less than 60 net grams.
Kardashian is proud all her hard work, and slammed rumors that she got weight-loss surgery or Photoshopped her selfies to look slimmer. "I work out so hard and this was such a challenge, but I did it," she said. "I'm so proud of my accomplishment and no one will take this away from me with fake reports!"
