Kim Kardashian posted a picture of a gold diamond encrusted gun on her twitter account, and a stir of all those anti-gun supporting fans began an angry word exchange. It's not surprising that a gun such as this would catch the eye of this high maintenance material girl, but was this just a ruse to see what would come of it or did she really “like” the photo prior to posting it on her account?
Kardashian has previously said she was pro-gun, so what is this all about? She immediately took the photo down after getting such an angry response and asked her fans to support Newtown.
“'However, a source close to Kardashian tells E! News that the whole thing was 'a mistake.'”(E-Online)
Those panicking over gun rights were quick to slam Kardashian.
"@KimKardashian you have too much influence to be this blind and ignorant. Innocent children & people still die even if the gun is pretty," wrote one follower.
Others supported the celebrity by saying things like,
“Kim Kardashian posted a pic of a gun on Instagram & now everyone is all pissed off. I forgot the 2nd amendment didn't count for celebs,” another fan tweeted.
Many love the sport of shooting, whether at target practice or out hunting for sport. With the onslaught of the shootings at schools and their coverage being so huge, many are forgetting that there are millions who never harm a soul with a gun. It is sad to see a fellow gun enthusiast blasted for liking the sport. When the pressure is on, we watch Kardashian change her stance to suit her fans.
Is she flip-flopping again, like when she supported Israel only to retract in short order? Is she a hypocrite as some have suggested? She's been seen in photos showing her shooting and posing with guns. Whatever the truth is, she has a right to her opinion just like the rest of us. One thing is for sure; she has everyone's attention.
