Kim Kardashian out, a dog in for Skechers Super Bowl commercial (video)

Reportedly, Kim Kardashian won't be part of a sexy Skechers Super Bowl 2012 commercial like she was last year. Instead, a dog takes the main role for the sneakers company.

Last year's small screen ad (see the video to the left) was a wowser but now a bowser is taking over for this footwear company's duties as the firm buys very expensive time on TV to hawk their sports shoes.

But the hound who is replacing Kim Kardashian isn't just any old hound. He (or is it she?) is a pure bred French bulldog.

And whether or not this fancy French bulldog is in while Kardshian is out because of her latest attention-getting situation (you know, that little problem with her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries that started as a wedding to rival the Royal nuptials and which was televised to worldwide attention) is the reason is anyone's guess.

However, according to one source, this idea is nixed. One Skechers executive said the split had nothing to do with this change of approach.

Skechers Fitness president Leonard Armato told USA Today, "Kim got us more attention than we ever dreamed. We have to establish Skechers as more than a lifestyle company."

While last year the shoes were on Kardashian's feet, this year the Skechers new mascot will don their GOrun footwear as this not necessarily speedy canine gets into a race with  a gaggle of greyhounds. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban allegedly takes part in this particular Super Bowl commercial as well.

And so, while neither a French bulldog nor Mark Cuban are as stunning (at least by certain  standards) as a well toned, skimpily dressed Kim Kardashian, these two will take over for Skechers in their Super Bowl commercial for 2012.
