Kim Kardashian is shedding her post-pregnancy pounds by following the Atkins diet. According to "E! News" on Oct. 14, the new mom revealed her weight loss plan via Twitter over the weekend when a fan asked her what she was doing to slim down.
"I've actually been doing the Atkins diet & luv it," Kim said. The website reports the diet involves a low-carb meal plan created by Dr. Robert Atkins. Since the diet is based on protein-rich foods, counting calories not a concern.
"She is eating lots of lean proteins, healthy fats like nuts and avocado, carbs, fruits, veggies and cheese," a rep for Atkins told “Us” weekly about Kim’s diet.
The "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star wanted to be healthy as she is a nursing mom and did not want to "toxify" her milk with a diet or rapid weight loss. According to the report, Kim has been on the Atkins diet since her doctor approved it in late June.
But that’s not all. “Glamour” magazine reports Kim has been hitting the gym regularly. The 32-year-old does cardio training daily and keeps a weight loss journal which she reportedly plans to publish.
