Kim Kardashian, Kanye wedding news: Money talks, wedding to be on reality TV

The Kim Kardashian-Kanye West wedding will be airing on reality TV despite Kim’s insistence that unlike her wedding to Kris Humphries, her next wedding would be a private, low-key affair. As of Jan. 27, Radar Online, the Huffington Post and Show Biz Spy are reporting that Kim and Kanye have changed their minds and will now have a lavish , over-the-top wedding and will allow it to be broadcast on TV for all the world to see.

Money Talks, E! Network Footing the Bill

It all comes down to the fact that once Kanye West realized he could save millions of dollars in wedding expenses by allowing E! network to air his wedding to Kim Kardashian on reality TV, it suddenly didn’t seem like such a bad idea.

Kanye West had previously made it clear that he was very much against having his private life with Kim Kardashian and Baby North West publicly displayed on reality TV. But when he found out that E! TV was willing to foot the bill for the wedding in exchange for the rights to air the wedding on TV and handle the logistics of planning a wedding outside the United States, Kanye quickly changed his mind.

Turned Down by the Palace of Versailles

In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Kim revealed that she and Kanye planned to marry in Paris this summer. They recently toured the Palace of Versailles where she reportedly had her heart set on getting married, but according to reports, their request was denied. The Palace is technically owned by the French government and its use is strictly controlled. With Kanye talking about fighter jets and dancing bears, no wonder Palace officials turned them down.

E! Network Can Be a Big Help

In addition to picking up most of the multi-million dollar tab for the cost of the wedding, E! TV will also handle much of the planning associated with privacy, security and other necessary details with which Kim and Kanye don’t really want to get personally involved.

Kanye has expressed an desire to have a series of festival-like pre-wedding activities for their guests leading up the big day.

It will be much easier for a network to handle the logistics of a large, lavish wedding in a foreign country with hundreds of guests, than for the two individuals involved. Kim and Kanye can be certain that if the E! network is shelling out millions of dollars for exclusive rights to film and air their wedding on TV, they will put a foolproof system in place to avoid intrusive paparazzi and cell-phone-wielding guests.

They certainly don’t want a repeat of what happened when Kim’s engagement was secretly filmed and aired by a guest. There’s far too much money at stake.
