In a highly public Internet leak of financial and personal information, known as doxxing, Kardashain's records were stolen by hackers who bypassed security at credit card agencies and banks, TMZ was first to report late Monday.
Kim Kardashian's social security number, mortgage information, current and previous home addresses, credit reports, car loan rates, and other financial statements were posted online by the hackers. Examiner.com has viewed the website in question, which was tweeted out in Russian, but will not share it here due the personal contents.
Beyonce and Jay Z, Britney Spears, Ashton Kutcher, Hilary Clinton, Donald Trump, and Mel Gibson are also among the celebrity dox victims. The FBI and LAPD are reportedly working together to investigate the breech and the website that posted the celebrities' information.
Doxxing is a cyber crime that the LAPD and FBI reveal starts by hackers who have obtained limited starting information about a victim -- in this case celebrities.
