Kim Kardashian flour bombing assault is old news

Kim Kardashian was flour bombed yesterday, while walking a red carpet for the release of her new fragrance True Reflection. She shook it off, excused herself to clean up, and went on with her interviews; but she may not have been aware that her powdery assault was related to events from before she was even born.

Personal attacks on public figures started off with pieing in 1970 and quickly took off to include politicians, celebrities, and anyone else that was in the public eye. Usually it was meant to humiliate by shoving a shaving cream and/or whipped cream pie into the victim’s face, but this has changed-as did the weapon of choice-through the years.

Fast-forward to 2011 and the glitter bomb exploded onto the political world, as a protest of anti-gay agenda’s. Many front runners for the GOP presidential race have been sprinkled with the sparkly dust, including Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Mitt Romney.

PETA joined the assault party by spray painting celebrities’ fur coats, and splashing red paint on cat walks during fashion shows; and recently used flour bombs on Lindsey Lohan in 2008, and on Ms Kardashian yesterday.

Normally, flour bombers are escorted away from the scene of the crime and not criminally charged. But recently a glitter bomber was arrested and cited on misdemeanor charges of creating a disturbance, throwing a missile and an unlawful act on school property and is now facing up to six months in jail, a $1000 fine if convicted.
