Kim Kardashian posted a picture over the weekend of a diamond studded handgun, which immediately sparked a controversy. According to Fox News on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, it wasn’t long before Kim took down the picture, but the damage was done. Kim might have deleted the post, but it didn't erase the mistake of posting a picture of a handgun during a time when guns are a heated issue.
The controversy centered around Kim being a hypocrite about gun control after posting the gun as if it were another elaborate accessory. It wasn't long before someone pointed out on Twitter that Kim had signed the “Sandy Hook Promise,” which was created for gun control after the horrific attack that killed children and adults in Newtown, Conn. around the holidays.
Twitter wasn’t all one sided when it came to bashing Kim’s choice of posting a picture of a pretty little gun. Some fans tweeted in defense of Kim’s choice to post the picture, with one fan referring to the 2nd amendment.
Apparently Kim uploaded pictures of designer handguns and thought nothing of sharing her finds with her fans. It wasn’t until the buzz about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings started showing up that the pictures disappeared.
Kim has to be aware that everything she does is put under the media microscope. Why would she post these photos of designer handguns in the first place? She had to know that the gun control issue is on fire today, especially after all the small children that were brutally murdered in Conn.
Doesn’t she have a publicist that checks out the pictures she’s intending to post before she does it? A publicist would have come in handy for Kim’s dilemma in Nov. when she sent a supportive Israel tweet. She wrote that she “was praying for everyone in Israel.”
In what appeared to be an after thought, she tweeted “praying for Palestine” after she posted the first tweet referring to Israel. She eventually deleted both messages.
Kim hasn’t commented on the flood of tweets criticizing her designer handgun pictures as of yet. It might be a good idea for the most popular Kardashian sister to have a publicist or if she has one, consult with that person before posting controversial subjects.
She needs someone who will look over what she’s about to post online before she does it. Once it is out there, it's reported on by the media and even if she delete's it, people will still hear all about it!
