Kim Kardashian blames MTV for the new rash of teenage pregnancies in Memphis, TN.  At least 90 girls at one Memphis high school have been pregnant within the last year.  "I find it so sad and disturbing," the Dash NYC boutique owner writes in a recent blog post.  "It seems that shows like Teen Mom are all of a sudden making teen pregnancy seem cool in the eyes of young girls.  The kids from these shows are all over the news, even on the covers of magazines, and have become almost like celebrities, but girls, these are not people you should idolize," Kardashian states missing the irony in her words.

"When I think back to when I was 16, there is no way I would even have considered having a baby. That thought wouldn’t even have entered my head," Ms. Kardashian says on her blog.  "Having a baby is one of the biggest and most life-changing decisions a person can make, and while I’m not saying that no teen is in the position to raise a child, having a baby so young shouldn’t be seen as the trendy thing to do."

Teen Mom star Amber Portwood, who was arrested in late 2010 for domestic battery charges has her own take on Kim Kardashian's statements.  "Last time I checked, Kim Kardashian had a sex tape floating around on the internet and I'm pretty sure she made a lot of money off of it," she tells E!..."She made a sex tape when she was younger and she wants to bash the girls on 'Teen Mom'?"  Touche Amber, touche.

Portwood, who is mom to two-year-old Leah added, "If you read the articles about the show, they do nothing but talk about how the show reveals how hard it is for all of us. It doesn't glamorize anything!  It shows the heartache we've all gone through," Portwood told E!.  "We may be 'celebrities' because our face is out there, but it's only because we've done some bad things. That's not glamorous."

We do find it odd that Kim Kardashian does not notice the uptick in sex tapes since she got down and dirty, then made a career out of that very tape.  We also find it ironic that her sister Khloe Kardashian stated in the sisterhood's latest book, that she (Khloe) lost her virginity at 14.  Clearly, Kim has conned herself into thinking we would be totally interested in Bruce Jenner (the Kardashian's step-dad)...or Khloe...or Kourtney...or the BeBe Kardashian line...or any of the Brunette Brood, if Ms. Kim hadn't had her now infamous roll-in-the-hay with singer Ray J.
