Kim Kardashian, who's about five months pregnant, already regrets the weight she has gained during her brief gestation.
On Feb. 28, a wistful Kim tweeted a 2008 photo of herself looking considerably thinner with the caption, "Me leaving dance rehearsals. #IWasSoooooSkinny"
She also blogged: "I’ve found that I’ve gained inches and I’ve gotten wider but my belly hasn’t popped yet, so I struggle finding things that don’t make me look heavy."
Kardashian, who has become rich and famous thanks to her bootylicious curves (which were showcased in her infamous sex tape), is squeamish about getting heavier and has already conceded her pregnancy weight "will be up there." Kim may not realize that the most dramatic weight gain comes in her third trimester, in which case, she'd better buckle up for a bumpy ride.
To stem excess weight gain, Kardashian has hired celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson to help her stay in shape during and after pregnancy. Anderson, who helped Kim's sister Kourtney lose 44 pounds just six months after giving birth to her second child, has vowed that Kim will be in better shape than ever after pregnancy.
"She’s so young, and she’s got me helping her, so she’s going to look better after pregnancy than she’s ever looked," Tracy said. "I guarantee it.”
While Kardashian's laments about weight gain are understandable, it bears noting that other celebrities who are thinner and fitter than she has ever been have had multiple children and regained their svelte physiques after each one.
For instance, fashion designer Victoria Beckham, 38, has four children and regained her size-zero physique in record time after each pregnancy.
Angelina Jolie, 37, has given birth twice (once to twins!) and quickly regained her sleek figure, as did Kelly Ripa, 42, who has three children. None has publicly whined about her weight before, during, or after pregnancy. Perhaps Kim should take some notes from these super-fit veteran moms.
