Only 72 days after her ‘Fairy Tale Wedding,’ Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from her husband, NBA star Kris Humphries, but the divorce proceedings will most likely take longer than their marriage lasted. It is already set to be a long and messy divorce.
Kim filed for divorce in the state of California which has an ‘open court policy on popular court cases’ like the O.J. Simpson case in which Kim’s father, Robert Kardashian, was a prosecutor. These proceedings are open to cameras. Will Kim’s home network E! be in on the action? Will they film a ‘Not-so-fairy Tale divorce?’
As if the possibility of a televised divorce isn’t enough for Kim, she also has to deal with everything Kris is throwing her way. On December 1, Kris Humphries filed for an annulment based on fraud. A source told Hollywood Life that Kris believes that Kim ‘had no intention of staying married to him’ and that she just got married ‘to make money.’ He and a team of lawyers are confident they can prove his claims with the help of clips from Kim’s reality show, ‘Kourtney and Kim Take New York.’ The same source said, ‘Kris had no idea the Kim was unhappy in their marriage.’
Due to the accusation of fraud, Kim and Kris’s divorce is on hold until a judge can prove that there is ‘clear and convincing evidence’ that fraud has occurred in the marriage. Will Kim give Kris the annulment? If she does so, she will also be agreeing to the fact that she entered into her marriage fraudulently and risks a whole lot of fall out from her suppliers and serious damage to her reputation.
