It hasn’t been long since the announcement and subsequent video of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s engagement rocked the media. It was an elaborate effort, almost a made-for-tv event. According to a report on October 31 by TMZ, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are suing the man who leaked the video, Chad Hurley. They are accusing him of forcing his way into the event, signing a confidentiality agreement, and then posting the video for the world to see because he wanted to gain publicity for his new venture, MixBit.
Fans know that nothing the Kardashians do is private, and this event was apparently going to be used at a future date for the E! network. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are seeking unspecified damages, which include but are not limited to punitive. There is no telling what the couple has valued the video at, especially since they both think highly of their status in Hollywood.
Now that millions have watched the video, it may not air on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” at all. Fans are supporting the couple and understand the outrage of exploiting something that was private for them. Both have led pretty public lives since their relationship began almost two years, and fans aren’t sure Kim Kardashian really knows what privacy is. As of now there is no comment from Chad Hurley, but you can bet this isn’t the last fans will hear about this lawsuit.
