Once again, Kim Kardashian may be walking down the wedding aisle for a third time. On Kardashian’s birthday, Monday, October 21st, West proposed in a big way. West was able to secretly gather friends and family for the big proposal at the San Francisco AT&T Park.
According to USA Today sources, the cost of the AT&T field for rent began at $200,000 and another 200,000 to cover field access. There was another cost to use the cameras, HD scoreboard, and technical crews. West also had to pay for a full 50-piece orchestra and musicians; this was arranged so the couple could be serenaded before West got on one knee and asked Kim to marry him. Those in attendance gasped when West got on his knee to ask Kim for her hand in marriage.
A violinist who spoke after the engagement (according to the Daily News) says all the musicians had to sign two nondisclosure agreements regarding the primo gig. It was also noted that the orchestra was gathered in two days, which gave them very little time (Monday night for 1 hour) to master the songs that were selected by West. The songs chosen for the couple were one of Kim’s favorite – Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” and West’s own song “Knock You Down.”
According to TMZ sources, the ring West purchased for his bride-to-be is worth 8 million dollars. Many seem to also be talking about the fact that this couple is certainly different from the last walk down the aisle Kim made with Kris Humphries. This time, Kim is not considered the breadwinner; she’s worth $40 million to Kanye’s $100 million. It seems there are many speaking about the fact that Kanye should certainly be seeking a prenuptial agreement, which according to some sources, could cost the couple up to $100,000 in legal fees.
According to the Daily News, when NBA’s Kris Humphries father weighed in on the engagement when he was asked what he thought, he responded “Does a leopard really change its spots?” “I don’t think so, not much changes.” “It’s just different actors this time around.” Many seem to feel the same way about Kardashian and West’s engagement and soon to be marriage. Maybe it’s due to the fact that Kim’s first marriage to record producer, Damon Thomas only lasted 4 years. Then, her second marriage to Kris Humphries only lasted 72 days. Some are already counting down Kardashian and West’s marriage to last maybe 2 years, so maybe West should seriously consider getting a prenuptial agreement.
What do you think? Do you think maybe the third time will be a charm for Kim’s marriage to Kanye?
