Kim Kardashian and Kanye West known as "Kimye", deny rumors of pregnancy illness (Photos)

With the news of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy, rumors are surfacing that Kardashian is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, better known as acute morning sickness. Several on-line sites are claiming that last night her doctor made a house call and treated Kardashian at her Los Angeles home for hyperemesis. Kardashian is stating that she is sick with the flu via Twitter, perhaps to avert the attention to her pregnancy. Nevertheless, she is fighting off not only illness, but is also inundated with controversy regarding her pregnancy, since, as it turns out, her divorce from Kris Humphries of the Brooklyn Nets, is not yet final.

Hyperemesis was recently widely publicized when The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, was hospitalized for the condition. Approximately 1 in 300 pregnant women suffer from the illness, which includes symptoms of extreme nausea and intractable vomiting. Most women are admitted to the hospital to receive immediate IV hydration to avoid further complications, which can include renal and liver damage.

Hyperemesis has also been associated with women more likely having a girl rather than a boy. Various recent studies of the illness show that nearly 60% of mothers who suffered from the illness later delivered a girl, as opposed to 40% who delivered a boy. Kardashian is said to be 12 weeks pregnant. So could this mean that “Kimye” as the couple is often referred to in the media, is having a baby girl, or “Kimyette”? The next several weeks shall be quite telling.
