Kim Kardashian and Kanye West gets involved with fine art

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be millionaires but it sounds like they are not at auctions bidding on the finest pieces of art on a regular basis. Rather than buying fine art, Kanye is doing the next-best thing. He has supposedly hired Andy Warhol’s cousin, Monica Warhol, to paint a portrait for Kim before their wedding. According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report published on Dec. 3, Kim Kardashian’s future husband is planning on getting Kim involved with fine art and he is going directly to the source.

And it sounds like Monica is excited about working with the couple. “She’s an icon,” Monica told Page Six about the new project. “She’s famous for nothing. Andy would have loved her. Kim is beautiful. She’s so manufactured. She looks like a human Barbie.” Andy died when Monica was just 10 years old, but it sounds like she is using similar techniques as her cousin.

“I never studied Andy. I never owned a book about him until about a year ago,” she said. “My grandfather and Andy’s father were brothers. My Aunt Betty took me to the cemetery every week, where we’d pray over Andy’s grave, because my aunt said he was pretty flaky and was probably in purgatory.” It is admirable that she can speak so fondly of her family member and do what she thinks he would have loved - paint Kim Kardashian.
