Kim Basinger is taking the modeling world by storm at age 60, according to a Dec. 23 report in UK’s Daily Telegraph. The Oscar winner will join her 18-year-old daughter, Ireland Baldwin at IMG Models.
The actress is no stranger to modeling. She was discovered at age 16 in 1969 by Ford Models co-founder Eileen Ford. After modeling for a few years, she focused on acting. “It was very hard to go from one booking to another and always have to deal with the way I looked. I couldn't stand it. I felt myself choking,” she has said of her modeling career.
Variety Magazine reports that Basinger’s deal with IMG Model allows the company to “exclusively handle management of her commercial business endorsement opportunities.” Basinger will next be seen in the upcoming Sylvester Stallone movie, “Grudge Match.”
The talented Oscar winning beauty still has the “it” factor. “We are proud to be working with a distinguished and talented actress such as Kim Basinger,” IMG Models Senior VP Ivan Bart told Variety. “Kim has a powerful appeal on screen that will lend itself as a strong asset for us to seek innovative partnerships across the modelling and entertainment platform for Kim.”
