The island is famous for the Orange Curaçao liquor made from the peels of local bitter orange fruit.
Kilo Kai spiced rum from Curaçao is packaged in a simple, tall brown frosted glass bottle with an iconic skull-like logo embossed in white, accented with skateboard tape around the neck.
This 70 proof spiced and flavored rum of amber color presents a medium bodied viscosity. The initial aromas of vanilla and cherry cola are accented with citrus, cinnamon and nutmeg. Flavors of anise, caramel, vanilla, banana, cherry, nutmeg and orange rind are well balanced and not too sweet. The finish is pleasant and smooth, notably easier on the palette than most spiced rums.
This blend of one to five year old rums can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks. It excels at bringing a bouquet of tropical flavors to cocktails and punches.
Three generations of rum masters are involved in the production of this spirit, which is imported and bottled in the U.S. by Apostrophe Brands.
