Published in 2009,'Killer Cruise,' is the eighth installment in the wildly popular and insanely hysterical Jaine Austen mystery series, ‘Killer Cruise,’ is an amusing and gripping read.
The novel begins by introducing freelance writer Jaine Austen, a loveable single woman living her life in California with her feisty cat Prozac.
Jaine when she has any kind of luck tends to lean towards bad, but things are finally looking up when she learns she has gotten a job as a lecturer on a cruise line, earning her an all expense paid vacation.
Sadly for Jaine things do not go quite as expected, first Prozac becomes a stowaway, the average age of the passengers are on the high side, and Jaine’s cabin is little more than a closet.
Jaine has decided to make the best of things though, and in between runs to the 24 hour buffet, she manages to make friends with a fellow employee named Cookie, as well as, a sweet old lady named Emily, and her hunky great nephew Robbie.
Everything is going pretty good that is until a ship lothario named Graham formerly Cookie’s boyfriend and currently Emily’s fiancée is found murdered with an ice pick sticking out of his chest.
Before long Jaine is not only contesting with an escaping Prozac, whacky passengers, and an unending love for brownies, she now has a murder to solve!
Will she be able to find Graham’s killer, keep Prozac in love, and win over Robbie?
Or will this cruise prove to be Jaine’s last?
Filled with quirk, endearing characters, laughable situations, and murder makes, ‘Killer Cruise,’ a delightfully wonderful read.
