Kile Glover, the 11 year old son of Grammy award winning R&B singer Usher's former wife, Tameka Foster and television executive Ryan Glover, died Saturday morning, two weeks after a jet ski collision left the child critically injured.
Kile suffered a major brain injury on July 6 after friend of the family ran over him and a 15-year-old girl while they were being towed on an inner tube behind a pontoon boat in Atlanta's Lake Lanier.
Kile was unresponsive when pulled from the lake, while the other victim reportedly suffered a cut on the head and a broken arm, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said. Both Kile and the teenager were flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston pediatric hospital, where it was determined that a full recovery would not be likely for Kile.
TMZ reports that the 11-year-old died Saturday morning (July 21) after being taken off of life support. Kile is one of two children born to Tameka Foster and Ryan Glover, president of Bounce TV and a former executive with Turner Broadcasting.
"The investigation into this incident continues," DNR spokeswoman Melissa Cummings told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Saturday.
The DNR identified the man on the personal watercraft in the accident as Jeffrey S. Hubbard of Atlanta, and that alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the incident. At this time no charges have been filed.
Friends and fans have sent the Foster / Glover Family their condolences via social media since Saturday. On his Facebook page, V-103 morning host DJ Frank Ski posted: "CRYING, I Will Miss You Kile! ... Sometimes Life Is So Unfair."
Sympathy tweets were also sent by singer Justin Bieber, rapper Meek Mill, singer Toni Braxton, Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons, singer Eric Benet, actress Taraji P. Henson and a host of others.
Feel free to post your condolences in the comments section. Rest in peace to young Kile Glover.
