Kierra 'KiKi' Sheard, 27, Sunday Best judge, adds a new dimension to the BET gospel talent search show. Her on-air personality lights up the stage of the seventh season of the show Kirk Franklin hosts. According to BET, Sunday's show eliminated 10 of the top 20 singers.
Sheard has been singing before audiences since the age of 9, and measures up to the family name, "Clark Sisters," of which her mother Karen Clark Sheard hails from.
Born and raised in Detroit, Kierra's got alot of soul and natural talent to go along with her outspoken ways. Kierra is the youngest judge Sunday Best has ever had. She can relate to the singers in a way that the more seasoned singers and older judges can not.
Even though Kierra is young, she is mature, and playful. Sheard told one of the competitors, "You got a holla on you, that's what we like, most of us church folk like it when you can holla."
When Kierra needs to give negative critique, she usually starts off her sentence by saying, "I wish you would have..." That statement prepares the singer for the bad news. When Tina Campbell was judge, she usually immediately told singers they did a bad job without any preparation or preface.
Not only is Kierra an excellent judge, the show's co-judges, Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams each have their strength and expertise. Sheard helps to bring the youthfulness to the national audience. Considering the fact that most competitors are young, she fills the age gap.
Each season, we look forward to the elimination process of Sunday Best competitors. The show has had more women winners than men, let's see if this season will deliver a male winner. The show is in it's seventh season.
Sunday Best airs on BET Sundays at 8:00 pm EST.
