This Friday, Kiehl’s since 1851 will be hosting their grand opening of their first Colorado store in Cherry Creek Mall from 12pm to 2pm. There will also be a special guest, who attended Cherry Creek High School, Aron Ralston.
The name might not be terribly familiar but the journey he went through is well-known. The movie 127 Hours was based on him. While he was canyoneering in Utah, a boulder fell on his right arm and after three days of being trapped he amputated his forearm with a dull knife.
As the spirit of adventure and discovery has long been part of the heritage of Kiehl’s, we have invited Mr. Ralston, an area native who truly embodies this passion, to share his story with his community, according to a recent press release.
In honor of Aron Ralston and opening of the new store, Kiehl’s will be donating $10,000 to the Wilderness Workshop. The Wilderness Workshop’s mission is to protect and conserve the wilderness and natural resources of the Roaring Fork watershed, the White River National Forest and adjacent public lands, according to their website.
Aron’s book Between a Rock and Hard Place will be available for purchase which will also benefit the Wilderness Workshop. Along with a book signing, he will also conduct a Q&A presentation.
The Kiehl’s products are well-known and they were founded as an old world apothecary in the East Village of New York. They have been around since 1851 and they take pride in using natural ingredients like lavender, squalane, caffeine and blue algae to name a few. They carry body and hair products for men, women, children, and even pets.
The new store in Cherry Creek will feature some of the customer’s favorites including, Might Recovery Concentrate, Crème Eye Treatment with Avocado, and the Ultimate Man Body Scrub. Customers will be able to ‘try before you buy’ the products. It is a sampling program allowing the customers to be able to determine the correct skin care formula. They also have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and return policy.
Another notable feature is they offer the Recycle and Be Rewarded Program. The company encourages customers to bring back their empty bottles, jars, and tubes to be recycled and receive complimentary products.
