Creating an active environment for your kids will also create a fitness compass for your kids to follow throughout their lives.

It is important to realize that all children are different.

Some children are not as active as others and parents should provide encouragement towards any type of fitness a child may find interesting.

Here is a list of activities that will inspire you to inspire your kid(s):

  • Walking
  • Running
  • Tennis
  • Table Tennis/Ping Pong
  • Bike Riding
  • A Group Sport: football, soccer, baseball, basketball, lacrosse
  • Swimming
  • Track
  • Going to a gym and doing weights or group aerobics
  • Dance classes (Hawaiian, Zumba, Hip-Hop, etc..)
  • Golf

There are a variety of exercises that involve individual or groups working out. A team sport will have a schedule and work out time with the entire group. Other sports and activities require a self made schedule and focused work out.

Most apartment communities have swimming pools and gyms in the San Jose Bay Area. Parents must be present at all times while using these facilities.

Living near the YMCA and a Park & Recreation community will benefit your children as well. The costs are usually low or no cost at all at these facilities.
