In the past two episodes, Team Rachael (Kathy Najimy, Hines Ward & Carnie Wilson) has creamed Team Guy in two challenges. After saying goodbye to their teammates Cornelia Guest and Chilli, Figure Skater Johnny Weir and actor Dean McDermott are the last two members of Team Guy standing. Did the men turn the tide on their losing streak? Or did they face off in the fourth Blind Tasting elimination challenge of the season? Read on to find out….
Tonight, the five remaining celebrities have to cook for two kids’ birthday parties. Some of the celebs were a little uncomfortable with some of their decisions. Johnny did not feel comfortable cooking for children and he was extremely nervous making the chicken fries. Meanwhile, the actor had to most to lose during this challenge because he did not want to his brand to fail. He helped Johnny create the cupcakes because the Olympian did not know how to bake cupcakes.
Over on Team Rachael, Kathy was having problems making the rice crispy treats as she failed to add the marshmallows three different times. Kathy’s kitchen woes also included creating a cocktail-like salsa and when time was called she stuck with the hummus and guacamole. Meanwhile, Carnie took a big risk and decided to create her raspberry bars instead of her client’s wish of cheesecake.
In addition to pleasing their hosts, guests and mentors, the teams also had to please special guest Modern Family’s Rico Rodriguez. Team Rachael presented their dishes to their guests. While Hines’ quesadillas were a crowd pleaser and the kids liked Kathy’s hummus and s’mores, both of Carnie’s dishes were seen as unpopular and noting special. Team Guy’s V.I.P. of the day was Dean, whose pizza and “Dragon Breath” dessert astonished the audience, while Johnny delivered subpar performances.
For the first time this season, both teams actually tied. Unfortunately, the bottom two of the week: Johnny Weir and Carnie Wilson had to face off in the Bottom Two Blind Tasting using hot dogs. Johnny decided to cook a sausage instead of a hot dog while Carnie decided to make a simple hot dog with homemade potato chips. At the end of the night, Johnny skated away from the competition leaving Dean all alone on Team Guy.
Next week, the Final Four will face off in a food truck battle.
