The next Kids Pasta Project (KPP) dinner will be held Monday, July 25, and will be in support of the North Fork Historical Society, a group whose mission is to preserve the history of the North Fork Valley. The event will be held five miles from the town of Hotchkiss at Scenic Mesa Ranch, Seating for the dinner will be between 6 - 6:30 p.m. and reservations are required. Reservation deadline is the Sunday before the dinner, though late reservations will be honored if possible. The meal will consist of homemade pasta, bread, fresh salad and a seasonal dessert. There are vegetarian and gluten-free options available upon request. Cost for the dinner is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for children.
The mission of KPP is to teach youth to serve their local communities by preparing and selling fresh, homemade meals using local produce and products wherever possible. Young people learn leadership and teamwork skills as they work together to benefit their hometowns. KPP strives to be a sustainable and adaptable endeavor which can be transfered to any locality.
The North Fork Historical Society works to keep and preserve local historical artifacts and make them available to the public. The group is in the process of acquiring and archiving as much information as possible relating to the history of the North Fork Valley.
