Kids need stretching too

Stretching before a workout or any type of exercise is important for both children and adults alike.  Yes, children are more flexible and adaptable than adults, but strenuous exercise can still cause harm to even the most limber.

It has often been asked if children require more or less stretching as compared to adults.  Children’s bodies do require a different type and strength of stretching due to their constant and varying state of growth. Adults have very different strength and exercise needs, based on their own health, fitness and nutrition goals, and individuals require individual needs based on a large number of factors. Making health, fitness and nutrition a family affair should take some of the question out of the regular routine if the proper importance is placed on exercise in the home.

Make stretching a fun time for all! Give children something to look forward to with their routine. The stretching part of any workout routine can be the most sought after, the most relaxing, and the most healing for both mind and body for anyone.
