Kids learn about new year's resolutions, from a naturalistic viewpoint

Like Steven Spielberg says, we are all constantly re-inventing ourselves. The new year is a great time to take stock of our life and review our behavior from the previous year. What did we do that we liked? What did we do that we wish maybe we didn't? These are the things we'll be discussing with the kids on Sun. Jan 12 in "Natural Sunday School." The link for the event is here: http://tinyurl.com/lcemgeh .

In existential philosophy, one thing we've learned is that everyone has the right, and responsibility, to design their own life. Life's meaning is found from within. In choosing what kind of life we'd like to have, we also have to rule-out other possibilities, because we can't do all things. From a child's standpoint, they can pick their career aspirations; from astronaut, scientist, artist, to even being the President of the USA. Depending on what they want, they'll have to take different classes and training to achieve their goals.

How about you? Have you figured out what you want to be when you grow up? Have you listed all the possibilities, and then agonized over which one to pick, realizing that certain possibilities no longer exist because you can choose only one path?
