The Lowe's Build and Grow program offers kids a FREE opportunity to make projects in a safe environment! This program is offered locally nationwide on certain Saturdays and you can check here to find a program near you.
Locally, the Lowe's in Brockport, Greece, Henrietta, Webster, Macedon, Canandaigua and Batavia all offer clinics! For the Buffalo readers, the Lowe's in Orchard Park, East Amherst, West Amherst and Hamburg all participate.
On Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10am kids will have the opportunity to make their own Valentine Creator. Online registration is closed so you will have to call the store to see if there are any spots left. On Saturday, February 25, 2012 your child can make a Rumblin’ Race Car! Online registration is available just click on "Go to Step 1"!
One of my previous articles here talks about these clinics and how smoothly they run. Lowe's typically offers two clinics per month and the projects offer step-by-step directions for how to put together. When you arrive at the clinic, you will receive your project kit, an apron, and a badge (similar to Girl Scout/Boy Scout patches). If you are a regular, you just bring your own Lowe's apron every time (and to make it really exciting, sew on the patches of all the projects your child has accomplished)! Once you receive your project, you can get to work.
