Did you know that Home Depot (nationwide) offers a free project for kids the first Saturday of every month? Home Depot allows hands-on creative and educational projects that give kids a chance to learn about tool safety and do-it-yourself skills.
On Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 9am to 12pm your child can make a Keepsake Valentine’s Box! This would be great as a cute Valentine gift or a place to keep their own Valentine’s!
The workshop is designed for children ages 5 to 12. When you arrive, you need to sign in (and sign a waiver). The workshops are very well organized and they will distribute your materials after you sign in. You do no need to pre-register but it is while supplies last (so I would get there toward the earlier part of the timeframe). Similar to the Lowe's workshops that I write about, they also give children a kid-sized apron and an achievement pin!
Locally, you can participate at Home Depot in Gates (2361 Buffalo Road), Henrietta (770 Jefferson Road), Greece (1250 West Ridge Road), Irondequoit (1111 E. Ridge Road), Penfield (750 Panorama Trails), and Victor (7600 Commons Blvd). To find a Home Depot near you, click here!
