In these camp programs, youngsters may learn about horse care, grooming, riding, and more.

Each summer horse camp has its own requirements for age, gender, equestrian discipline, and other specifications. Some are day camps, while others offer overnight programs.

Here is an assortment of camp programs for young equestrians. For easy reference, these summer horse camps are arranged alphabetically.

Diettrich Farm, in Salem Wisconsin, offers a summer day camp program for boys and girls from age five through age 20. Horseback riders at all ability levels are welcome.

In Gurnee, Illinois, Fields and Fences School of Horsemanship has summer day camp programs for beginning and advanced equestrians.

Overnight campers may pick Great Northern Riding Club, of Eagle River, Wisconsin. This horse camp has four one-week sessions, beginning in mid-June and running through mid-July.

Also offering four one-week sessions is the GS Performance Horses program. This horse-themed day camp will be held at Galloping Grove Ranch, in Union Grove, Illinois.

Hoofbeat Ridge, in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, has day camp and residential camp programming all summer for young horse lovers.

In Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, Kuenzi Equestrian Pony Club Riding Center has a camp-like Summer Horsemanship Lesson Program from June through August.

Lost Creek Ranch, of Beldenville, Wisconsin, runs a Camp Confidence summer series.

Red Ridge Ranch offers a Horse Wishes Day Camp for young equestrians, beginning in mid-June in Mauston, Wisconsin.

Sunflower Farms, of Bristol, Wisconsin, welcomes young equestrians to sign up for their picks of one-week day camp sessions, beginning June 16 and ending August 15.

In Kasson, Minnesota, Turn Crest Stable and Saddlery presents a variety of horse camp options for youngsters of multiple age groups from June to August.

Wild West Girls Camp has weekly horse day camp programs at Wild West Campground in Amherst, Wisconsin, running from the middle of June through the middle of August.

The Wild Winds Ranch, of West Salem, Wisconsin, offers several summer camp options, including once-weekly Learn-to-Ride specialty camps and trail adventures.

Enrollment is filling up fast, so those hoping to register are advised to act quickly to gain spots in these summer horse camps.
