On July 19, 14-year-old actor Sean Martin, founder of the organization,"Kids Adopt a Shelter," is hosting a Pet Fashion Show to raise funds for animal shelters and to promote shelter adoptions.

According to a press release from Kids Adopt a Shelter, the event will take place on Saturday, July 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Massapequa Petco in Massapequa, NY with a rain date of Sunday, July 20.

The Pet Fashion Show will have multiple family-friendly events and activities. The fashion show is allowing rescue and shelters to walk their adoptable animals in the “Adopt a Pet Fashion Walk” at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Participating shelters and rescues include: Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, Fur Babies Rescue, Friends of Freddie Pet Rescue, Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center, Pet Adoption World Foundation with Second Chance and Forgotten Friends of Long Island Pet Adoption World Foundation with Second Chance.

The public can register to walk their favorite pet down the runway in the “I Love My Pet Fashion Walk” for a $10 donation at 4 p.m. Registration for the public walk must be done in advance. Participants can show off their pet in an outfit and have professional photographs taken.

Several family friendly activities will take place during the event, including an auction, music, face painting and more. There will also be an awards ceremony with awards given by Michael Venditto for New York State Senate and Kids Adopt a Shelter founder Sean Martin.

The first 200 donors at the event will receive a free gift bag full of prizes. This event is free to attend but monetary and pet item donations are suggested.

Last year's Pet Fashion show resulted in 15 adoptions - those involved with the organization are hoping to exceed that number with the upcoming event.
