Kid Cudi to act in 'Need for Speed'

DreamWorks’ video game adaptation “Need for Speed” is shifting into overdrive on casting.

Deadline has learned today that musician Scott ‘Kid Cudi’ Mescudi (“Fright Night” soundtrack) will be acting alongside Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”), Dominic Cooper (“Captain America: The First Avenger”), and Imogen Poots (“28 Weeks Later”).

He will be playing the best friend of racer Tobey Marshall (Paul), a man driven by revenge, in a race from New York to L.A., and he will also contribute to the soundtrack.

While I haven’t seen him act in anything really he did a pretty good job in his music video for the “Fright Night” song “No One Believes Me.”

He was able to convey the emotions of the song through his face, and that is something a lot of actors have trouble with, so maybe he will do alright (the song is also pretty catchy).
