Der Biergarten in downtown Atlanta on Marietta Street in the “Luckie Marietta District” will be hosting the first “Barks and Beers” of the season on Saturday, March 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. And your favorite pooch is welcome to join you on the dog-friendly patio for the festivities this Saturday and every Saturday through the end of June.
For the kickoff event, Der Biergarten will be serving half liters of Weihenstephaner Hefe for only $5 with the proceeds benefiting the Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Georgia SPCA). There will also be liters of Warsteiner Dunkel available for $9.
Die Kurtzbaum will provide live music from 5 to 8 p.m. and there will be plenty of opportunities to play beer pong, foosball and shuffleboard.
About the Georgia SPCA (from the website)
“The Georgia SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is a 501c(3) non-profit pet rescue organization located in Suwanee, GA. Our Mission is to reduce the number of healthy cats and dogs euthanized in the state of Georgia by implementing successful adoption programs, offering low cost spay/neuter to the public, and by promoting responsible pet ownership.
As a no kill organization, all animals accepted by the Georgia SPCA are placed in our adoption center or foster homes until suitable forever homes can be found. Prior to adoption our pets are fully vetted, including vaccinations, disease testing, treatment for heartworms (if necessary), flea and tick and heartworm prevention, spay or neuter, and microchipping. A free 30-day pet health insurance policy is included with each adoption.”
