Boston-based PBS station WGBH is kicking off the holiday season later this month with a marathon of movies based on the locally-produced PBS Kids show Curious George.

On Wednesday, November 23, the day before Thanksgiving, PBS Kids will feature the broadcast premiere of the original Curious George movie, which will air as part of the Curious George Holiday Spectacular. The three-movie, on-air event will then feature Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey and Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas.

A popular children’s show for several years now, Curious George is a production of Imagine Entertainment, WGBH Boston and Universal Studios Family Productions. The Curious George movie, presented by Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, features the voices of Will Ferrell, Drew Barrymore and Dick Van Dyke, as well as the music of Jack Johnson.

"George has a natural curiosity and eagerness to learn, making him an ideal trusted guide for our young viewers. We hope that the Curious George Holiday Spectacular will take families on even more adventures with their favorite monkey, fostering excitement in exploring the world around them," said Lesli Rotenberg, Senior Vice President, Children's Media, PBS.
