Super Bowl Sunday is this weekend. You can spend the afternoon watching non-stop, pre-game commentary or you can leave your house to enjoy delicious chowder and make it back in time for the official kick-off.
This year, Connecticut’s football-themed ChowdaFest is being held at the Webster Bank Arena, located at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport. If you are a big fan of soup and chowder, this will be a great event to attend; the public will be the ones judging the competition on which restaurant has the best chowder in the state.
The party starts at 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 3. Attendees can wear their football jersey in support of their favorite team. Tickets for adults are $10; tickets for children that are in the ages of 6-12 are $5; kids under the age of five years old have free admittance. All tickets can be purchased at the box office.
ChowdaFest will also be collecting non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Connecticut Food Bank. All contributors to the food donation will be entered into a raffle to win a $200 Stop and Shop gift certificate.
For more details about the event, check out ChowdaFest.org. If you need directions on how to get to the event, visit the Webster Bank Arena website.
What a fun way to kick off Super Bowl Sunday by sampling chowder and donating to a great cause.
