Khloe Kardashian's trainer reveals diet and workout secrets to her 30-lb weight loss

Khloe Kardashian is in great shape after her recent 30-pound weight loss, which her trainer, Gunnar Peterson, attributed to a portion-controlled diet and rigorous workouts.

"Khloe works hard," Peterson told E! "She has been killing it in the gym. There are no shortcuts." Peterson said Khloe works out three or four days a week, combining strength-training, boxing circuits, medicine-ball workouts, and cardio exercise.

Peterson, creator of Core Secrets: 25 Minute Full Body Workout, said Khloe's workouts include plyometric pushups, hauling a sled, dead lifts, resistance bands and ab exercise. When she's not at the gym, Kardashian hikes and does Pilates.

Intense Workouts But No Extreme Diets

"I've lost around 30 pounds, and I'm feeling good," Kardashian told Cosmopolitan. "I've worked very hard on my body so I think now I can sex it up a little!"

Kardashian doesn't follow any extreme diets, but makes sure to eat small portions of healthy foods and snacks. Khloe is now a confident young woman, but revealed she was hurt when her mother, Kris Jenner, suggested she get plastic surgery as a child.

Khloe has steadfastly refused to cave in to the pressure to get plastic surgery, but admitted her mom's comments haunt her to this day. "Words are the most powerful weapon," she said. "They can leave scars forever."

Kim Lost 50 Pounds on Low-Carb Ketogenic Diet

Khloe has gotten a lot of positive feedback after her 30-pound weight loss, and underscored that her slim-down was gradual and part of a healthy lifestyle, not a quick fix.

Khloe isn't the only Kardashian who has been making headlines for her weight loss. Her sister, Kim, lost 50 pounds in six months by following the low-carb ketogenic-style Atkins diet and working out almost every day.

Kim's ketogenic diet consisted of 1,800 to 2,200 calories and limited daily carb intake to 50 grams. Her daily menu combined proteins like fish, chicken and meat, healthy fats like olive oil, avocados and nuts, and fresh vegetables.

Kardashian has reportedly been stepping up her low-carb diet and workouts ahead of her May 24 wedding to Kanye West.
