The New York Post is reporting that Khloe Kardashian is not being asked to come back for a second season as co-host of Simon Cowell's 'The X Factor'. They quote an insider as saying, “They are asking Mario [Lopez] to come back, but not Khloe.”
If the report is true, Kardashian's exit marks the third for the singing competition show this year. Neither Britney Spears nor L.A. Reid plan to return to the judging table next season.
The show has gone through similar changes for each season. The initial line-up had Steve Jones as the host with Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid, and Nicole Scherzinger as judges, with Cheryl Cole as a guest judge during auditions. Season two brought in Kardashian and Lopez as hosts, with Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid being joined by Britney Spears and Demi Lovato as judges. And of course there was the behind-the-scenes firing of Cheryl Cole, who was initially hired as a full-time judge, that resulted in a $2.3 million lawsuit.
Cole is said to be in talks to return as a judge as part of her lawsuit settlement, and Ne-Yo is confirmed to be in talks with Fox about a possible spot.
