News headlines of "Khloe Kardashian fired," have arrived as the co-host of "X Factor" has reportedly been fired from her co-hosting gig. The news arrived on Feb. 18 via NY Post, among other sources online.
The NY Post reports that an insider says Mario Lopez has been asked back as host, but apparently Khloe has not. An L.A. hosting expert, Marki Costello, said of Khloe's situation on the show:
"I am sure there was a big percentage of Khloe’s fans who followed her to ‘X Factor.’
But at the end of the day, when she doesn’t know what she is doing, are you helping your show or hurting it?
It was really hard for me to watch Mario with her. It made me, as a viewer, almost uncomfortable."
This makes for the third individual to leave the show ahead of its third season. First, L.A. Reid quit his role as one of the judges so he could focus more on his work at Epic Records. Next, Britney Spears departed due to her "lukewarm" reception as a judge. Now, Kardashian has been fired. That leaves Mario Lopez as the show's sole host, and Simon Cowell as the only confirmed judge. Singer Demi Lovato hasn't officially left or been fired, but she has yet to be confirmed as returning to her role as judge on the show.
There are rumors that Cheryl Cole, the former judge on the show, could possibly return to her role. She has a lawsuit against the show as of this past December, claiming she is still owed money her contract with the show. Cowell even said he regretted letting her go.
"X Factor" is a singing talent competition which originated in the United Kingdom, with the U.S. version now shown on FOX for two seasons. The third season is expected to return in September of 2013. Roanoke viewers can see it on local affiliate station WFXR 8 on Cox Cable.
