Khloe Kardashian fans may or may not be surprised to hear that she has been fired from "The X Factor", according to multiple news stories published Feb. 18, 2013 the reality television star was hired because she was not a trained television host (source). Being a smart buisness woman (most would agree that is one talent the Kardashian's have) the idea of taking hosting classes was considered, but according to Huffington Post Live she was advised against this idea.
Khloe had this to say in the Huffinton Post Live interview, "I’ve never done live TV before, and I was asked to not do any hosting lessons because they wanted me to be just myself. I found the day before because the stage was just built, that I couldn’t read the teleprompter without glasses, so I had to get contacts the day before.” She went on to explain, "Just learning how there's a screaming audience and you don't yell because the mic is right there ... I will have an earpiece in my ear, and while I'm trying to read the teleprompter then I have someone counting down ... and they're like, 'Okay, ask Simon this or that' ... There were so just so many pieces I never knew were involved in live TV."
While the start of her experience was rocky Simon Cowell seemed to be extremely helpful and she had this to say about the experience, "I actually love Simon. I love that personality, I love the honesty. He was so phenomenal to me. He could tell I kind of lost my confidence the first week ... I got insecure for a minute, and Simon told me, 'I hired you for you, I could have hired any trained host, so be yourself.' And as soon as he said that, I felt like I was getting into my groove, and then it was the finale and now it's over."
There is a lot that goes into creating a live television show (reality television may seem live but is far from it) and while the host seems to make things look smooth and easy the reality is the backstage working can be and is often chaotic. Things happen on live shows. There are not additional takes to get the scene right - like there is in most television shows. It takes a certain level of training and a certain personality to be able to work though the difficulties that come up in the process.
Undoubtedly there are a certain number of Kardashian fans that joined the fan base of "The X Factor" but will they remain fans upon her departure? What do you think of Kardashian leaving the show? Feel free to leave a comment below with your thoughts.
