Active child care providers in Pennsylvania who are certified in early care can now apply for a 2013-14 Rising STARS Support Grant from the Keystone STARS program. Family child care programs may apply for up to $2,000 and centers and group child care programs may apply for up to $5,000. The application deadline is November 1, 2013.
The following is the Rising STARS Support Grant eligibility criteria:
- Must be on STAR 1 level
- Have not received a RISING STARS grant in the past
- Have not already received two STARS Support grants in the past
- Actively working on a Continuous Quality Improvement plan that includes moving up to a STAR 2 in a reasonable amount of time
Keystone STARS is a statewide program of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Pennsylvania. This year, Keystone STARS celebrated its 10 year anniversary. Keystone STARS continues to focus on providing access to the highest quality services for hard to reach / hard to serve children and families by providing supports to providers--such as professional development and resources--as they move up the quality scale to STAR 3 and 4 levels.
