Keys Community Concert Band to give musical world tour Feb. 16

The Keys Community Concert Band is to play a free musical program that begins in the United States, then travels worldwide exhibiting music from a variety of cultures before returning home during Around the World in 60 Minutes Saturday, Feb. 16, at 4 p.m. at the Capital Bank Amphitheater at Founders Park, mile marker (MM) 87 bayside in Islamorada. Selections include folk song medleys, classical selections, ballads, a novelty number and a few lively marches.

KCCB welcomes musicians of all ages. Musicians may join at any time during the winter season, and perform for a month or for the season. Band members rehearse at 7 p.m. Mondays in the Key Largo School band room, MM 104.8.

Pops in the Park is funded, in part, by a grant from the Monroe County Tourist Development Council, administered by the Florida Keys Council of the Arts. The Hurlburt Family Foundation, First State Bank and other local organizations provide additional funding. Donations are welcome!

Bring your family, pack your blanket or lawn chair, and enjoy an outdoor concert on Florida Bay. For further information, find the Keys Community Concert Band on Facebook or call 305-853-7294.
