Kevin Smith told by Barbara Walters he doesn’t look ‘That Fat’ (video)

The moment Kevin Smith was thrown off the Southwest jet because of his weight he knew he world would change. Only months ago the movie producer was taken off a flight after allegedly someone at Southwest complained about his weight and being on a plane. While the incident was long forgotten, Monday on ABC's The View, Barbara Walters pointed out the story again and shared with viewers that Smith didn’t look “that fat” to be thrown off an airliner.

"First of all they shouldn't have done it. And Secondly you don't look that fat,” said Barbara Walters.

Promoting his DVD release of Red State, the loud and opinionated man was gentle and kind to the ladies at The View. Which is why his weight being discussed on national TV was a moment of shock especially since it was from Barbara Walters who didn't think about her rather hurtful words.

"That is a great compliment coming from anybody. Let alone someone from your  stature going 'you're not that fat,'" Kevin Smith said about Walter’s remark.  “I was this size when I got thrown off the plane."

While Southwest appears to be using weight, fashion and other tools to decide who steps on their airplanes, there is no doubt they are not doing themselves any favors picking on people who have a few extra pounds and don’t have a problem letting the world know.

Take a look at Barbara Walters critiquing Kevin Smith's weigh in the video clip. It is a funny, but awkward moment.
