When The Hollywood Reporter revealed on July 30, 2014, that a trailer for Kevin Smith's horror film "Tusk" was online, it thrilled a lot of people. The trailer shows a very creepy story that may sound funny when you think of someone being turned into a walrus, but it truly does bring about a scary vibe as the two-and-a-half minutes goes on. The more mysterious question though...is Johnny Depp actually in the film?
Some reports state that Depp is actually in the film, but no-one involved with it has ever actually confirmed that he's got a role.
Bloody-Disgusting has a source that is confirming Depp's involvement in "Tusk," but you may not even realize that it truly is him.
Depp is said to be playing the role of Guy Lapointe and he's got a very "thick accent" and he's said to be "barely recognizable" when in character. Smith has said nothing about Depp being in the strange horror film, but all will know for sure when it hits theaters on Sept. 19, 2014.
"Tusk" tells the tale of a reporter named Wallace who goes to interview a strange seafarer named Howard Howe (Michael Parks). While there, Howe drugs Wallace and intends to surgically turn his guest into a walrus.
Depp's role of Lapointe is reported to be that of a French Canadian detective who has been hunting Howe for over 10 years. It will be interesting to see if Depp is in the film, but it seems that lately, his roles are meant to be mysterious such as proven in the first trailer for Disney's "Into the Woods."
"Tusk" stars Justin Long, Genesis Rodriguez, Miachel Parks, Haley Joel Osment, and (possibly) Johnny Depp. It's set to hit theaters this September.
