Kevin Smith has been teasing Clerks 3 for months, from a Broadway play to settling on the movie being his final turn as a director. Smith has been playing around with the media in many ways with Clerks 3, finally though he's posted up a tantalizing bit on his facebook, the title page to the Clerks 3 screenplay. When the image was posted up on his page he added this piece of information,
"THE BEGINNING OF THE END
20 years ago today, we started shooting CLERKS.
20 years later, with no plan or provocation, I jumped out of bed at 4:20 this morning and started writing CLERKS III.
It’s been like hanging out with old friends.
And after 2 hours of tapping the keys and giggling, I have come to a conclusion…
CLERKS III will be the best film I’ll ever make."
From the sounds of this, Kevin Smith is planning big things for this movie. Considering the day and age we're in, the final film of any trilogy is set to be the biggest one of the series. Everyone out there wondered and still wonders what he ultimately has in mind for Clerks with the third film. Just seeing a title page for the screen play itself fuels the imagination for what's in store for fans of the franchise.
There's a large cast pool for Smith to work from so there's a good chance we could see the entire cast back. We could even see a few surprise guest stars too, the possibilities are endless just from the promise of one title page stating the title, Clerks 3. One page is all it took to tell us that Kevin Smith has returned to the franchise that made him great. The coming months look to be exciting ones for fans of Kevin Smith and View Askew Productions.
