Kevin Smith announced yesterday that he will be starting his work on his final take at director. Clerks 3 is going to become a thing of reality. The announcement that it would become a broadway play, then a book and now a feature film. Smith is without a doubt trying to go out with a bang for his final work as a director.
Smith went to his Facebook page and posted an image, stirring the pot once again. The image was posted to Smith’s Facebook page, with an accompanying note:
THE BEGINNING OF THE END
20 years ago today, we started shooting CLERKS.
20 years later, with no plan or provocation, I jumped out of bed at 4:20 this morning and started writing CLERKS III.
It’s been like hanging out with old friends.
And after 2 hours of tapping the keys and giggling, I have come to a conclusion…
CLERKS III will be the best film I’ll ever make

We'll see what this means for the future of the Clerks series and if Kevin Smith is just following the now traditional hollywood format of trilogies.
