Country music fans are mourning the loss of a great man today. On Sunday, People shared the news that country singer Kevin Sharp has passed away. He was just 43-years-old. He is best known for his hit "Nobody Knows." This song has been done by other artists as well including The Tony Rich Project and Babyface.
His website said that he died from past stomach surgeries and digestive issues. He started to get worse in 2011 and has been through various surgeries since then for leg infections. Kevin has battled the blood cancer Ewing's sarcoma since he was young and always fought hard. He has continued to work regardless and his fans love this dedication. He has touched a lot of people throughout his years in music and obviously will be greatly missed by all of them.
The Make-a-Wish Foundation actually set him up with a meeting with David Foster years ago. He is an amazing music producer who also happens to be married to Yolanda Foster of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." This simple meeting ended up with a record deal that forever changed his life. The record deal was with Asylum Records.
Various country artists have been on Twitter today sending their condolences to the family. Billy Dean said, "My fellow country artist Kevin Sharp Passed away last night and went to spend Easter with Jesus. My prayers to the family." Rodney Atkins also spoke out saying, "Thoughts & prayers going out to Kevin Sharp's family, friends & fans. http://www.kevinsharp.com." Of course more artists will reach out as news about his passing spreads throughout this very tight knit community of performers.
Kevin Sharp has always worked hard with various charities including Make-a-Wish Foundation. His fans are shocked that he ended up passing away at such a young age and he will be greatly missed. There will be a memorial in Nashville but at this time they have not shared if fans will be allowed or if it will just be for his family. More information will continue to come out and the best place to see it will be Kevin's website.
